PURPOSE:To protect an operational amplifier, by adding a transistor (TR) to the base of the TR that controls the current in order to apply the voltage when the operational amplifier has an overcurrent. CONSTITUTION:In case when the output current of an operational amplifier 1 increases owing to disconnection, etc. of an external load resistance 8, the base- emitter voltage of the 2nd TR12 increases to reach a certain value. Thus a sufficient biss is secured between the base and the emitter of the TR12 to turn on the TR12. As a result, a voltage VCC is applied to the base of the TR12 via a resistance 9, and accordingly a negative feedback is applied to the amplifier 1. Then the current is limited before the amplifier 1 has a saturation to reduce the loss of the amplifier 1.
