Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of a heat receiving section of a separate type heat exchanger which is intended to recover waste heat of a factory or the like located at a remote place, by constituting a heat exchanging section by dividing the heat receiving section into an upper vapor chamber and a lower working fluid collecting chamber, and communicating these two chambers with each other via vaporizing tubes. CONSTITUTION:Working fluid, introduced into a working fluid sump 21 in a vapor chamber 14 of a heat receiving section 1 by means of a pump 1, overflows an overflow plate 20 and flows downward along vaporizing tubes 8 uniformly. While doing so, the working fluid is vaporized by absorbing heat from external heating fluid, and the vapor of working fluid thus produced is carried via a vapor pipe 5 into a vapor introducing chamber 17 of a heat emitting section 2, in which the vapor flows downward along condenser tubes 9. In doing so, the vapor of working fluid is condensed by tansmitting heat to an external fluid to be heated. Here, unvaporized working fluid in the working fluid collecting chamber 16 and working fluid in a fluid returning chamber 19 of the heat emitting section 2 are respectively carried back the vaporizing chamber 14 of the heat receiving section 1 via a supply pipe 7 by the pump 3. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to raise the efficiency of the heat receiving section 1.
