Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polymer having improved heat resistance, electric conductivity and optical properties, by reacting a specific dihaloarylene compound with a divinylarylene compound in the presence of a catalyst and a hydrogen halide capturing agent.
CONSTITUTION: A dihaloarylene compound of formulaI(Ar is formula II, III, etc.;{Y is H, -R, -COOR, etc.;[R is H, (cyclo) alkyl, etc.]; Z1 is -N= or -C=; m is an integer 0W4, etc. when both of Z1s of formula II are -C=; m is an integer 0W6 when Z1 of formula III is -C=, etc.}; X is Br or I), e.g. p-dibromobenzene is reacted with a divinylarylene compound of formula IV (Ar' is the same as Ar; R1WR4 are H, CH3 or C2H5), e.g. p-divinylbenzene, in the presence of a palladium acetate and a triarylphosphine and a tertiary amine, tri-o-tolylphosphine as a catalyst, and a tertiary amine, e.g. n-butylamine as a hydrogen halide capturing agent, at 75W150°C for 1W50hr.
