Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily convert a long-sized material into a magnet in a direction perpendicular to the axis by applying a magnetic field perpendicular to the moving direction of the material to the material to be heat treated. CONSTITUTION:A tunnel type heating furnace 2 is installed between polar faces 4 to parallel permanent magnets with different polarities so that the axis (l) of the furnace runs along the faces 4. In the furnace 2 a long-sized material 3 to be heat treated is moved in the direction of the axis (l), and it is heat treated while applying a magnetic field perpendicular to the moving direction. Thus, the long-sized material is easily converted into a magnet in a direction perpendicular to the axis.
