Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the controllability for flow rate controlling valves and energy economization by operating the discharge pressures of cooling water pumps which maintain the openings of the flow rate controlling valves at optimum ones and controlling the number of revolutions of the pumps or the running quantity thereof in accordance with the results thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous casting device 10, molten metal is cast into a water-cooled mold 12, and when it passes through a secondary cooling region 14, it is cooled with cooling water, and a continuously cast ingot 16 is produced. The cooling water is sprayed from plural spray nozzles 18, and plural pieces each of the nozzles 18 form a cooling zone. The optimum flow rate set values of the secondary cooling water in the respective zones operated by a flow rate operator 32 are inputted to a valve differential pressure operator 34. The differential pressures, etc. of the respective zones calculated with the operator 34 are inputted to a pressure distribution operator 38, by which pressure distributions are calculated. In accordance with these distributions, the discharge pressure P0 of an actual pump 20 is calculated with a discharge pressure operator 40. This pressure P0 is inputted to a controller 42 for number of revolutions, by which a control device 44 for number of revolutions is controlled. It is possible to control the quantity of the pumps when plural units of the pumps are provided.
