Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate a lump of juice sacs into individual juice sac, by dividing an orange fruit with a cutter to several pieces, separating the piece into the segment skin and the juice sac lump with a skin separating device, and treating the lump with a sac separating device.
CONSTITUTION: Peeled orange fruit is divided to several pieces with a cutter having radially extended edges, and seoarated into the segment skin and the juice sac lump 14 with the skin separating device 8 by the turbulent flow produced by the fan 13. The lump 14, etc. are introduced into the sac separating device 16, in which the lump is dispersed by the baffle plate 23 attached to the rotary drum 18 and transferred foward. In the course of transfer, the segment is separated into individual juice sac by water jet sprayed from the nozzles of the pipe 19, and the separated juice sacs are passed through the perforations of the punching metal 22 to the inclined trought 21 and further to the mesh conveyor 25, by which the juice sacs are separated from water containing the components of orange.
