Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage of magnetic flux at a void part when a moving piece is moved on stepwisely by a method wherein current application is switched in such a manner that N-pole is given to one of the two pole teeth, electrically adjoined with each other, of the moving piece and S-pole will be given to the other pole-teeth, thereby boosting the thrust power. CONSTITUTION:A number of pole-teeth of pitch Wp at Wp/2 in tooth width are provided in a stator 1, and n pieces of pole-teeth are provided on a moving piece 2 at (2-1/n)Wp in the distance between pole-teeth when the pole width is Wp/2. Then, numbers such as 1-n is asigned to the pole-teeth of the moving piece 2, and first, the exciting condition wherein N-pole will be given to 1 and S-pole will be given to 2, is formed and then the exciting condition, wherein S- pole is given to 2 and N-pole is given to 3, is formed, and the two electrically adjoined pole-teeth are excited in such a manner that N-pole is given to one of them, and S-pole is given to the other pole-teeth. Accordingly, there exists no magnetic flux which passes through the unmagnetized pole-teeth, two moving pole-teeth are opposed to stator pole-teeth with equal tooth-width, thereby enabling to increase the thrust power with a very small leakage of the magnetic flux.
