Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid a rise of ripples by making a magnetic pole of the form by which the third harmonic electromotive force is hard to be generated in case of high speed driving and high output power. CONSTITUTION:The dimension A of a magnetic pole of a generator is made 2.5 times of a slot pitch and the form of the pole is made sloped or double- tapered. With this constitution, the form of the field pole becomes slender and the flux distribution is changed so as to reduce the flux which flows between the poles to the arrow direction. That is, by making the form of the pole slender, the distribution 11 of the armature reaction magnetomotive force is made closer to sine wave and, on the other hand, the distribution 10 of the pole magnetomotive force is deformed to have a form protruded more sharply. Then the third harmonic which corresponds to the composition of both magnetomotive forces becomes of a gentle wave form, so that ripples are reduced.
