Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fibers having improved adhesion efficiency and uniform adhesiveness, by dipping the fibers in a treating solution containing a copolymer of a polyalkylene glycol acrylate with acrylonitrile of specific composition and an alkali metallic salt of an acid, etc., and heat-treating the resultant fibers.
CONSTITUTION: Acrylic fibers are dipped in a treating solution containing (A) a copolymer consisting of 60W90wt% compound expressed by the formula[R is H or methyl; R' is Cl, Br, I, OCH3, SCH3, etc.; X is random or block polyether group consisting of (OC2H5)l and (OC3H6)m; 0≤m<10; l≥10]and 10W 40wt% acrylonitrile and (B) one or more alkali metallic or ammonium salts of an acid, e.g. sulfuric, nitric, hydrochloric, formic, acetic and oxalic acid, and then heat-treated to give the aimed fibers.
