Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent blow-bye of new gas in a 2-cycle engine provided with the exhaust stroke and the scavenging pipe suction stroke not overlapping, by permitting the exhaust regulator valve to operate accorrding to the inner pressure of the crank case.
CONSTITUTION: In the body 1 of a 2-cycle engine, the piston's 5 coming up to the upper dead point will open the suction 7 and give the atmospheric pressure to the crank case's inner pressure, and thus the exhaut regulator valve 11 will open. The subsequent downward action of the piston 5 will shut the suction pipe 7 and raise the pressure in the case 4, so that the scavenging counterflow preventive valve 12 will open while the valve 11 is held opened. When the piston 5 is going to pass the lower dead point, the pressure in the case becomes negative while the valve 11 is held open and the valve 12 is turned from open to closed. The valve 12, at the same time, prevents the fuel injected by the fuel injection valve 13 from flowing into the case 4 in any other stroke than the suction stroke. Thus, the valve 11 is turned from open to closed, and thereby blow-bye of new gas can be prevented as well as the rate of fuel consumption enhanced, emission of air coltaminating gas reduced.
