Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the effect of pressure in the combustion chamber according to a cylinder inside direct injection system on a fuel injection valve by mounting an opening and closing valve to a sub-chamber, to which the injection valve is faced, opening the valve when injection and communicating the combustion chamber and the sub-chamber in the combustion chamber.
CONSTITUTION: When the engine reaches a suction stroke, a suction valve 7 is opened, and air flows into the combustion chamber 6. The opening and closing valve 10 is opened at the same time, and opened continuously even after the sub-chamber 9 is communicated with the combustion chamber 6 and the suction valve 7 is closed, and fuel corresponding to the load of the engine is injected into the combustion chamber 6 from the fuel injection valve 5. The injection is conducted from the early time of the suction stroke when the load is large and for a fixed time after the suction valve 7 is closed when the load is small. The opening and closing valve 10 is closed instantaneously after injection is completed. And pressure rises through ignition combustion at the post stage of a compression stroke, but the change of pressure has no effect into the sub-chamber 9 because the opening and closing valve 10 is closed, and does not work to a nozzle section 5a of the injection valve 5.
