Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy adjustment of impedance, by forming a cavity by cutting a part of a rear conductor, i.e. at the earth side of a transmission line which is formed with a strip line. CONSTITUTION:A diode phase shifter consists of a PIN diode 1, a main transmission line Z0 and a susceptance component element ZT. The line Z0 and the element ZT are formed on a dielectric substrate 2 in the form of a microstrip line. In this case, a cavity 8 is formed by cutting a part of a fixed plate 6 and a lower conductor 5 at the part corresponding to an upper conductor 4 of the microstrip line. As a result, the space between the conductors 4 and 5 is increased equivalently, and the impedance is increased at the increased space part. Thus the width of the conductor 4 is increased satisfactorily, and accordingly an effect due to a slight error of the width of the conductor 4 can be reduced to the impedance.
