Abstract

The first transmission line is formed by conductors (21, 22) upon a dielectric (20) and spaced by a gap (23) of dimensions used for the 7 to 8.5GHz band. At the open end of the line and at right-angles to it, the microwave line is in contact with one side of the previous line and level with the gap. The second connection is by gold strip. The dielectrics need not be similar and can be chosen to suit the appropriate line. A variation permits the microwave line to cross the line gap and have its extremity at a quarter of the pass-band centre wave-length above the centre of the gap. This gives interconnection in both directions with a low coefficient of reflection.
