Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the corrosion resistance in the worked part of a zinc plated steel plate with a simple stage by subjecting said steel plate to a chromate treatment contg. the product of reduction of chromic acid and coating the paint curable by active energy rays on the top layer thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An aq. chromic acid soln. consisting of the compsn. of mixing ratios between chromic acid and the product of reduction of chromic acid ranging 1:0.5W1:0.8 by weight in terms of CrO3 respectively is coated on a steel plate plated with zinc or a zinc alloy, whereby a chromate film of 10W200mg/m2 stuck amount in total chromium is formed. Paint to be cured by active energy rays such as accelerated electron rays, ionizable radiations or the like is coated on the top layer thereof to 0.5W10μ film thicknesses. Silica sol is added at a weight ratio of silica sol (in terms of SiO2) based on the total weight (in terms of CrO3) of the chromic acid and the product of reduction of chromic acid ranging 1:0.3W1:8.0 to said aq. chromic acid soln., whereby the irregularity in sticking of chromate is prevented.
