Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation in the corrosion resistance of the surfaces of weld zones removed of plating layers effectively by melt-sticking corrosion resistant materials of a low m.p. on the surfaces of the weld zones of plates steel plate right after resistance welding by utilizing the waste heat of the resistance welding thereby forming corrosion resistant coating layers. CONSTITUTION:Plated steel plates 1 and 2 to be seam-welded are inserted between electrode rollers 3 and 4, which are conducted with AC current and revolve in an arrow directions, in the state of pressing one to the other. Nuggets 7 are formed intermittently or continuously in the abutting surface parts of the plates 1, 2, whereby the plates 1, 2 are joined. Corrosion resistant materials 14, 15 and fluxes are fed automatically respectively from supply devices 8, 9 and supply nozzles 10, 11 to the weld zone surfaces 12 and 13 of the plastes 1, 2 right after they come from the rollers 3 and 4. As a result, the material 14 and 15 are melt-stuck onto the plates 1, by the waste heat of the resistance welding retained by the plates 1 and 2 respectively, whereby corrosion resistant coating layers 16 and 17 are formed on the weld zone surfaces of the respective plates 1, 2.
