Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain positive and negative component differences of corona discharge current with high accuracy by controlling the output of a DC high voltage generating circuit through a constant current circuit according to the DC components of the corona discharge current. CONSTITUTION:The DC components of the corona discharge current (i) through a corona discharger 6, a photoreceptor 7, the ground, etc. is detected by a resistor R4, and according to said DC components, a constant current circuit 5 is controlled, and an oscillator 3 of a DC high voltage generating circuit is feedback controlled. A bias voltage of a reverse polarity is held applied to the output side of the high voltage generating circuit via an equivalent electric power source consisting of a coil 2S2, a diode D1, a capacitor C2, a resistor R3, etc. so that the positive and negative component differences of the corona discharge current applied upon the discharger 6 are maintained constant with high accuracy through an AC corona current generator. Therefore, the destaticization and electrostatic separation of an electrophotographic copier are accomplished stably.
