Abstract

PURPOSE:To offset the weight of a tare, in a parallelogram type load cell, by providing auxiliary beams on upper and lower parallel beams, and providing counterweights on the auxiliary beams. CONSTITUTION:The auxiliary beams 20 and 21 are attached to the upper and lower beam parts 2 and 3 by screws 24 and 25. The counterweights 22 and 23 are attached to the other ends of the beams 20 and 21. Reverse bending stress is yielded by the counterweights 22 and 23 against bending stress yielded by the weight of the tare at thin parts 10, 11, 12, and 13. The weight of a material is adjusted so as to offset the weight of the tare. When the material W is not mounted on a mounting plate 14, strain is not yielded in strain gages 6-9 and the weight is not detected. When the material W is mounted, compression strain and tensile strain are yielded in each strain gage, and only the weight of the material can be detected.
