Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the linearity of the bridge output voltage in the load cell by bonding a strain gauge at the position of the central beam where the absolute value of the ratio of compression strain to tension strain ranges from 1.2W1.3.
CONSTITUTION: This load cell is composed of an upper beam 11, a lower beam 12 and a central beam 13 which are provided to conmect a base 9 and a load receiving section 10. The upper and lower beams have flexible sections 19 and 20 adjacent to the base and the load receiving section. A strain gauge 23 for detection of tension strain and a strain gauge 24 for the detection of compression strain are bonded at the position of the central beam where the ratio in the absolute value of the compression strain εc and the tension strain εT ranges 1.2W1.3 while concave grooves 21 and 22 are provided on the beam surface on the opposite side facing each gauge. This can improve the linearity of the bridge output voltage characteristic of the strain gauge and the creep characteristic thereof against the load.
