Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the opposed force as shearing force by making stagger shelf type cuts which overlap and separate on a center axis as necessary and run to sides in the opposite directions centering the axis, and by concentrating stress on the overlap area of the cuts. CONSTITUTION:In an elastic plate 10 as shown by a parallelogram ABCD cuts 12' and 12'' which have an overlap (d) on a center axis and each extend to side edge of one side by length 1/3(D+d) are made in parallel to top and bottom sides AC and BD at an interval (l) and in a stagger shelf shape. Between those cuts 12' and 12'', two couples of strain gauges 14' and 14'' having axes with 45 deg. to the center axis of the plate 10 are provided on both the surfaces over the overall overlap width (d). When tensile forces F' and F'' in the opposite directions operate on both the ends of this strain detection plate at distance (e), the (e) increases by DELTAl. Then, the overlap part (d) is displaced as shown by a dotted line to increase the interval (l) by DELTAl, and a bridge is formed by using the gauges 14' on both the surfaces receiving tensile strain and the gauges 14'' on both the compressed surface as diagonal sides, thus detecting shearing strain with doubled sensitivity.
