Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate problems such as viscosity, evaporation of a bath, life of a pot, removal of an adhered salt or the like, in a method for immersing a material to be treated in a molten bath of a salt containing a substance based on an element of the VI a group of the Periodic Table, by using a mixed salt bath agent consisting of a neutral salt and borate in a specific ratio.

When an amount of borate is below the lower limit, the evaporation of the bath is high and the deterioration thereof is fast and, when exceeds the upper limit, viscosity of the bath is high, pot life is short and removal of the adhered salt is difficult. In addition, when, as the acid salt of the element belonged to the VI a group, for example, Na2CrO4 or the like in an amount of about 2W10wt% is added, effect is enhanced.
