CONSTITUTION:On both ends of a control signal transmitting optical fiber 8, directional couplers 20, 21 are provided, and the optical fiber 8 is utilized in bi-directional transmission. A video signal from a camera 1 of this video optical transmission system is converted to an optical signal by an electrooptic converter 2, is converted to an electric signal by an photoelectric converter 4 of the image receiving side through an optical fiber 3, and is displayed on a monitor 5. Also, a control signal to the camera 1 from an operating device 6 is converted to an optical signal by an electrooptic converter 7, is converted to an electric signal by an photoelectric converter 7 through the coupler 21, the fiber 8 and the coupler 20, and a turning device 10 is controlled by its output.
