PURPOSE:To precisely compensate shading over the whole range of a picture and improve the mass productivity of the titled controller by horizontally or vertically shifting a rectangular ND filter whose density is continuously changed to control the quantity of light. CONSTITUTION:A light image passing through a lens 1, a moving ND filter 10 and a shading compensation fixed filter 3 is converted into an electric signal by an image pickup tube 4 and amplified by an amplifier 5 and a video level is detected by a detector 6 and applied to a driving motor 8 for the horizontal direction moving ND filter 10, so that the moving ND filter 10 is shifted in the horizontal direction until the video level reaches a set video signal level. Since the moving ND filter 10 and the shading compensation fixed filter 3 have the same density grade in the reversed direction, the whole density of a picture is uniformed independently of the size of a frame of the light image and the picture is prevented from shading.
