Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove phenomena such as a flicker of a screen, black sinkage and white float by stabilizing the black level of a picture by adding a correction signal to a video signal obtained from a photo detecting element in a solid-state pickup unit using a CCD pickup element. CONSTITUTION:Correction signal 35 from driving circuit 34 is added to video signal 27 by mixing circuit 36. Correction signal 35 includes correction signal 37 for a part where vertical transfer within a vertical blanking interval is not performed and correction signal 38 for noises of transfer gate pulses. Correction signal 35 corrects a difference in level between a signal giving optical black and the output of a horizontal transfer part due to a dark current, and correction signal 38 similarly corrects a difference in level between the above-mentioned signal providing black and signal 30 due to noises of transfer gate pulses. Video signal 39, after this correction signal signal 35 is applied to uniform signal levels in the vertical blanking interval never varies in blank level even when clamped by clamping circuit 16.
