Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep a flame photometer in a stable condition by a method wherein a reaction solution is prepared by dispensing a specimen into a reaction tube in which a reagent has been dispensed only when a measurement for electrolyte is required, followed by the introduction of a reaction solution or a reagent into the flame photomer. CONSTITUTION:A reagent is dispensed from a reagent tank 1 into a reaction tube 4 that travels by a reagent dispenser 2. Into the reaction vessel 4 a sample in a sample cup 7 is then dispensed through a specimen dispenser 5 only when electrolyte measurement is required. Further, an accommodated one in the reaction tube 4 is agitated with a stirrer 8, thereby allowing the reaction solution or the reagent to be introduced into a flame photometer to permit a chemical analysis to be performed. Since a reagent, etc., are supplied continuously regardless of the existence of the measurement requirement, the flame photometer has a combustion chamber temperature which does not change adruptly and is stable, thereby allowing electrolyte to be measured stably.
