Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce deviation of a clock due to a dropout by detecting variation in the level of a clock signal component by a circuit which generates the clock signal from a digital playback signal, and making an input to the VCO in said circuit constant. CONSTITUTION:A signal having a frequency n-fold as high as a clock frequency fK extracted by a tank circuit 7 is supplied to the phase comparator 9 in a PLL14, and also supplied to an evelope detecting and comparator circuit 13. By the output signal of the circuit 13, a switch circuit 15 makes the connection between terminals (a) and (c) when no dropout is generated or between terminals (b) and (c) when a dropout is generated, thereby applying a constant voltage V to a VCO11 as a control voltage. Sharp voltage variation due to the switching is absorbed by an integral network 10. The application of the constant voltage results in the output of the VCO is set fixedly n-fold as high as the clock frequency.
