On the other hand, when an input signal over a fixed level is inputted to an input terminal 1, the level detector 8 outputs a control signal for switching operation to the contact A. As a result, the input signal is inputted to the phase comparator 4 via a switch means 7. Since the VCO2 oscillates in the frequency almost equal to the input signal before the input signal is applied to the input terminal 1, the synchronism to the input signal can be achieved in a short time at the application of input signal.
