Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the work load and time by mounting the torque detecting device wherein a strain gage i incorporated beforehand to a wheel mount of a driving axle, and measuring the axle torque by simply connecting the detecting device to a measuring device. CONSTITUTION:The strain gage 3 is mounted on an outer periphery 4 of a torque detecting shaft 1 having a stepped cylinder shape. A flange part 2 is provided on said shaft 1. A torque shaft cover 5 having a flange part 6 for mounting a wheel is provided on the outside of said gage 3. A slip ring 17 is provided on the tip of said cover 5. The axle torque detecting device is mounted to a wheel hub C which is mounted on the driving axle A by the flange part 2 of the torque shaft 1. The primary purpose of the wheel hub is to mount the wheel. The wheel B is mounted to the flange part 6 of the torque shaft cover 5. The slip ring 17 is set to a rear fender 182 of the vehicle by a spring, rubber 181, or the like so that the spring is not rotated. A lead wire 28 is connected to the dynamic strain gage 29, by which measurement is performed.
