Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the entry of cold air into a receiving port and to avert the wasteful consumption of fuel by closely contacting a waste gas gathering box to the receiving port of a molten iron receiving vessel, and controlling the feed rate of air for combustion according to the temps. in the vessel.
CONSTITUTION: A burner 1 is ignited in a position evacuated from a vessel body 15, and a carriage 3 is moved until a waste gas gathering box 2 closely contacts to a receiving port 1.
