Abstract
PURPOSE:To know the history of a vehicle accurately by performing addition even at the backward movement of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted by a vehicle speed sensor 1, a backward movement detecting switch 2 which detects backward movement of the vehicle, a computing circuit 3 which receives the signals from the vehicle speed sensor 1 and the backward movement detecting switch 2 and performs the adding and subtracting processes of the running distance, and a display circuit 4 which receives the signal from the computing circuit 3 and displays the values of the odometer and a tripmeter. The computing circuits 3 receives the signal from the vehicle speed sensor 1, performs the distance conversion, and normally performs addition to the values of the odometer and the tripmeter. Meanwhile, when the backward movement detection switch 2 is actuated and the vehicle is moved back, the odometer performs the adding process and the tripmeter performs the subtracting process.
