Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance while maintaining excellent magnetic characteristics, and to prevent the lowering of bias characteristics in a high frequency region due to the generation of rust and defects such as a signal lack by including a small amount of si component into the magnetice vaporated film of Co-Ni group metals. CONSTITUTION:The evaporated magnetic film of the metals having a composition consisting of 0-30wt% Ni, 0.5-6wt% Si, 3-11.0wt% O and Co as substantial remainder. Ni is not indispensable but may be added in order to improve the corrosion resistance of the evaporated magnetic film of the metals, the principal ingredient thereof is Co. Si is added in order to ameliorate the corrosion resistance, and the range of 0.9-3.2wt% is particularly excellent. O is not used particularly as a material for an evaporating source, but one part is combined with the metals, as an oxide and is contained, and the other part is adsorbed into a film layer together with an evaporating material and contained.
