Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the luminance of a fluorescent screen by a method wherein, when preparing an organic film, the drying temperature is changed according to the surface to be prepared, and a metal film on only the corner and skirt of a panel is made porous depending on the condition of forming the film. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a fluorescent film is coated with a highly concentrated emulsion, which is then dried at temperatures higher than the lowest one for film-making to prepare a highly smooth film on the fluorescent film; after this, a hard emulsion containing small diameter grains is applied to the surface othr than that of the fluorescent film of the corner and skirt of a front panel provided with a flluorescent screen and dried at temperatures lower than the lowest one for film-making. As a result, if an aluminum film is formed thereon by vacuum evaporation, the aluminum film on the fluorescent film will have a high reflection factor, whereas the other portion, or an aluminum film around what is on the fluorescent film will be made highly porous, so that that peripheral portion may be free from blisters and not peeled off during the baking process later.
