Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the stability of globule migration and improve welding work by detecting the timing for flying of a globule from a consumable electrode, and controlling pulse current supply time in such a manner that the migration of the globule takes place in the pulse current supply time.
CONSTITUTION: A device of performing the above-described pulse arc welding is constituted as follows: The above-described device is constituted of a consumable electrode 7, the arc 9 generated between the electrode 7 and materials 10 to be welded, a shielding gas 8, a reference time generator 12, etc. When the voltage of the arc 9 is first detected, the waveform shown is obtained and therefore this waveform is shaped and controlled, whereby the timing τ for detaching of a globule from the electrode 7 is measured with a measuring device 13. Next, the time τ for detaching of the globule and a pulse current supply time Tp are compared in a comparator 14 and a pulse welding source 6 is controlled with a regulator 15 so that the pulse current supply time is Tp when τ≤Tp and said supply time is τ when τ>Tp.
