Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove carbon from the external periphery side of a projected part on the tip side of a needle valve and enable to inject sufficient fuel in a beginning period of injection, by a method wherein air compressed by moving a piston in a cylinder is jetted from the side of the tip, or a part in proximity to the tip, of a needle valve for a fuel injection valve. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle body 40 is connected to the tip side of a holder body 11 through a distance piece 12. The bodies 40, 11 are provided with holes 17, 18 for containing the needle valve 14 and a spring 16, respectively, and the needle valve 14 and a spring seat 15 are connected to each other through a projecting pin 19. Oil passages 22, 24 are connected to a fuel reservoir 20 in the nozzle body 40 and they are supplied with a fuel from the side of a connecting member 25. On the other hand, on the tip side of a pressure-receiving surface 21 provided at a part faced to the fuel reservoir 20, the tip side of the hole 29 formed in the nozzle body 40 is mated to the lower side of a seat part where a tapered surface 6 on the tip side of a small-dimaeter part 5 and a tapered surface 10 on the upper side of the hole 9 make contact with each other. The compressed air supplied through a sealing member 32 is jetted to the side of a precombustion chamber 27 through holes 31-29.
