Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the titled recording material excellent in thermal response to a thermal head and long-time storability, by a method wherein a heat-sensitive color forming layer provided on a support is coated with a heat-resistant polymer resin film. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive color forming layer comprised of a diazo compound of formulaI, II or the like, a coupler (e.g., phenol), a heat-fusible or heat- softening substance having a melting point or a softeining point of 50-250 deg.C (e.g., 2-tribromoethanol) and a heat-fusible or heat-softening binder having a melting point or a softening point of 50-250 deg.C (e.g., PVC) is provided on a support, and is coated with a film of a heat-resistant polymer resin having a melting point, a softening point or a decomposition point of not lower than 200 deg.C (e.g., PVA). Thus the absorption of moisture by the color producing layer is prevented, the storability and head matching can be enhanced, and the recording material can be used as an output recording paper for a facsimile, an electronic computer or the like, which requires high-speed recording.
