Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep high printing speed independently of print letter arranging data, by writing a print code incapable of printing at each block corresponding to the types of characters in writing the print letter arranging data to be transferred. CONSTITUTION:When print letter arranging data e.g. of 240 bytes transferred from a channel is converted into the data of 384 bytes for storage, a print letter carrier is driven, a CPU 1 fetches a character type discriminating data from an I/O port 2 to discriminate the character types of the print letter carrier. Supposing a print letter carrier of 32 character types fitted on a line printer, data of 30 bytes is received from the channel and written in a universal character set buffer 3 through a BUS receiver 4. Space code of 2 bytes is written through an OUT port 6 from the CPU 1. The space code of 2 bytes is written at each 30 bytes. (30+2)X8=256 bytes are written to a buffer 3, and it is equivalent to the conversion into 32X12= 384 bytes and high-speed print can be made because of no odd block.
