CONSTITUTION:A clad material 10 having a base metal plate 11 at least one side surface of which is formed with a clad metal layer 12, is circularly punched out, and then the punched blank 13 is subjected to a reducing process so that a bevel part 2 having a valve face 3 made up with the clad metal layer 12, is formed. A part of the clad metal layer 12 in the center portion of the bevel part 12 is cut and removed, and then a valve stem member 1 made of materials selected from the same group of the materials of the above-mentioned base metal plate 11 is welded to the removed portion of the bevel part.
