Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent untimely errors in operation by providing a slightly smaller spiral groove in the inside diameter than that of a globe valve for the inner surface of a valve box, in the safety device capable of stopping the abnormal discharge of gas.
CONSTITUTION: When a rubber tube comes off or breaks, the amount of gas unpassable through an open-circuit 17 pushes a globe valve 15 upward so as to get through therefrom and, with this thrust force, the valve 15 comes into foating whereby it becomes pressed to the valve seats 1 and 2, shutting out the gas supply. At this time, the valve 15 floats by rotating itself along a spiral groove 20 which is somewhat smaller in the I.D. than the valve 15 so that the floating speed is delayed in some degree. Even when the amount of gas beyond the maximum flow rate appears temporarily at the gas supply side of an outer shell 10, the valve 15 floats along the groove 20 and by this reason, if the amount of abnormal gas subsides in the course of the rotation delay, the valve 15 conversely goes down as rotating, preventing the gas supply route from being shut out untimely.
