Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a heat resistant alloy with superior corrosion resistance at high temp. by adding Nb or Nb and Ta to an Fe-Cr alloy and restricting the contents of C, Si and Mn or further adding Ti, Ni, Co or W.
CONSTITUTION: This alloy consisting of, by weight, ≤0.20% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 40.0W60.0% Cr, 0.05W5.0% Nb or Nb+Ta and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities or contg. further one or more among ≤10% each of Ti, Ni, Co and W has superior characteristics in heat resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance at high temp., etc. In the composition >0.20% C deteriorates the heat resistance. Cr, Nb and Ta increase the strength and inhibit the corrosion at high temp. Ti, Ni, Co and W enhance the strength at high temp. or improve the toughness furthermore. Si and Mn are added by such small amounts as deoxidizers.
