Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the cooker easy to handle by providing a light source and a movable reflector for determining the area of opening of an aperture mechanism between an infrared sensor and a partition. CONSTITUTION:When cooking with heat is performed, a door 4 is opened and an object 2 to be cooked is placed on a receiving tray 16, a light source 4 is lighted and a movable reflector 11 is rotated in the direction of A by about 45 deg. to shine the light flux of the light source lamp 14 to the object 2. Then the area S of opening of the aperture mechanism 9 provided in a ceiling plate 6 is adjusted by aperture vanes 17 and the movable reflector 11 is returned to its original position (in the direction of the arrow mark B) in order to cover the whole object 2 with the light flux, and an electric heater 8 and magnetron that are the heat sources are operated to start cooking. As the object 2 is heated, infrared light from the object 2 is radiated, and the amount of this radiation is detected by an infrared light sensor 5. The sensor 5 has beforehand a memory in which a specified amount of infrared light radiation is stored. When a sensed infrared light radiation exceeds this specified amount, the heat source 8 is controlled by the sensor 5 and the cooking ends.
