Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the turbidity and chromaticity of liquid in a vessel such as a reaction vessel, etc., a river, a lake and the sea, etc. in a natural state without sampling it, by using a glass fiber tube and placing only photodetecting part of it in the liquid to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 1 divided by a beam splitter 4 is passed through a glass fiber tube 7 and is introduced into a photodetecting part 8 immersed in the liquid to be inspected. The light transmitted the part 8 is introduced into a photoelectric conversion element 5' passing through a glass fiber 8' again. The part 8 is constituted by covered glass fibers 7, 7' and right angle prisms 9, 9' held at a constant interval by spacers 10, 10' and the light from the light source is transmitted through the liquid to be inspected part shown as one-dot chain line 14.
