PURPOSE:To safely drive a vehicle, by relating ignition timing to speed and intake pressure of an engine, providing a circuit, for inhibiting an advance signal of the ignition timing while generating a correction signal, and effectively applying an engine brake at a high speed of the engine further operating the engine to a stable speed at a low speed of the engine. CONSTITUTION:When an engine brake is applied with an engine speed lower than an advance start speed, in no relation to intake pressure, a correction signal at an angle theta1 before top dead center by ignition timing signal is generated from an inhibition circuit, consisting of a comparator 146 and circuits 148, 149, through a comparator 143 and circuit 150. Further at low speed operation not higher than a preset speed when the intake pressure is lower than a preset value, advance timing control is similarly nhibited by an inhibition circuit, consisting of a comparator 161 and circuits 146, 149, and its correction signal at an angle theta1 before top dead center is generated through the circuit 150 in no relation to the speed.
