Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform operational transfer of an engine smoothly to an optimum idle speed, in idle speed control, by storing a control quantity under an idle condition and resetting a speed of the engine to the stored control quantity when the speed is decreased from another condition to reach a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:Output is detected by an idle SW148, if a throttle valve is left as opened, bypass air correction is stored as zero to a RAM106 by a CPU102. When a rotary speed increases to exceed an idle condition, and the idle SW148 is closed again, if the throttle valve is closed, a decreasing speed N and target value NIDLE are compared, and a correction quantity of bypass air is stored as a memory value at N <= NIDLE to prevent the speed from largely lowering from an optimum idle speed NREF. On the other hand, at N > NIDLE, N and NREF are compared to adjust a certain value to the preceding correction of bypass air quantity and obtain a new correction amount.
