Abstract
PURPOSE:To operate an internal combustion engine, jointly used with gas fuel and liquid fuel, in a good condition even at the time of rapid acceleration, by regulating a flow rate of the gas fuel with the first and second flow regulating valves corresponding respectively to an intake air quantity and a differentiated value of the intake air quantity. CONSTITUTION:The first flow regulating valve 9 is operated in such a manner that a disphragm chamber space 17 is communicated to an intake manifold 4, in accordance with its negative pressure a valve 13 is opened and closed through a diaphragm 12 and spring 11. The second regulating valve 19 is opened by a differentiation value of movement of a throttle 25 through a strut 26 consisting of a piston 28 provided with a leak hole 30 and valve 29. Accordingly, at normal operation, gas fuel in proportion to an intake air quantity is fed by the flow regulating valve 9 to hold the mixture ratio with lequid fuel to constant. While at start operation or rapid acceleration time, a piston valve 29 is closed by a rapid opening of the throttle 25 to press a cylinder 27 and open the flow regulating valve 19, and then the cylinder is reset by urging force of a spring 31 through the leak hole 30 to close the valve 19, in this way, the gas fuel is fed in accordance with a differentiation value.
