Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct the deviation of printing position due to the scanning movement of carriage by a method in which a conductive part to be mounted on the carriage is made up so that asymmetric electric field is generated in relation to the deflected face of ink droplet. CONSTITUTION:A projection 9a is provided to a cover 9 provided between a deflection electrode 3 and a recording paper 20, and electric field E between the deflection electrode 3 and the cover 9 is asymmetrized in relation to the deflected face O of ink droplet. Also, the ink droplet of maximum charge is deflected by a distance L equal to the distance that a carriage moves ina direction opposite to the scanning direction of the carriage during the period of time from the injection of the ink droplet of minimum charge to the injection of the ink droplet of maximum charge. Thus, an inclinating strain caused by the scanning movement of the carriage can be effectively corrected by a simplified and inexpensive system.
