Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the detection of a trouble point, by a method wherein, in case the trouble point of a cable is detected, the end part at an opposite side to that of a measuring end part is short-circuited, a first and a second power source are used, and they are applied between the measuring part and a cable shielding layer through selection of polarity. CONSTITUTION:A sound phase cable conductor 1 and a throuble phase cable conductor 2, having a trouble point 3, are short-circuited at end parts 1b and 2b at an opposite side to that of measuring end parts 1a and 2a, with a conductor 4. A DC power source E1 is connected to the end parts 1a and 2a through switches S1, S2 which are polarity-switched and interlocked, and a DC power source E2 is further applied. A voltage-detecting resistance Rv is connected between the power source E2 and a cable shielding layer 5 to measure a potential difference of Rv as V1 when S1 and S2 are brought to an a-side in a manner to bring S3 to an a-side, as V2 in the case of a b-side, as V3 when S3 to a b-side and S1, S2 to an a-side and as V4 when S1 and S2 are brought to an a-side in a state to bring S3 to a b-side. Resistance values R1 and R2 to the measuring ends 1a and 2a and a trouble point can be found by a formula, and this permits the detection of a trouble point.
