Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect the locations of insulation faulty points with comparative high- resistance of a wire and a cable, by balanceing a bridge circuit by denying induced voltage by applying induced voltage applied to a galvanometer and voltage with inverse polarity to a galvanometer circuit.
CONSTITUTION: If a sliding terminal of a sliding resistance 9 is moved up to a left end when a 1.5V dry cell is used for an auxiliary direct-current power source 6 and a switch 10 is made, not more than 1.5V voltage is applied between the earth E and a sliding terminal C of a sliding resistance 2. When changing over a change-over switch 8, polarity becomes inverse. Thus, a pointer of a galvanometer G is freely set to the maximum division at the minus side from the maximum division at plus side by varying the locations of the sliding terminal of the sliding resistance 9. If induced voltage of cables 1, 1' to be measured is applied between A, B when the switch 10 is broken, voltage, which differs by the locations of the terminal C of the sliding resistance 2, is applied to the galvanometer G, and the pointer swings to the plus side or the minus side. If a switch 11 is made using the location of the fixed swing as the zero location of the galvanometer G and a bridge circuit is balanced by moving the terminal C, the locations of the faulty points 4 of a cable can be measured.
