Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a photo measurement being excellent in a temperature property, by a method wherein two types of lights being different in wavelength, are used, a physical volume is measured by one wavelength light, and temperature by the other wavelength light to correct a physical volume measuring signal by the use of a temperature measuring signal. CONSTITUTION:Light emitting devices 9 and 10 generate two lights having light wavelengths lambda1 and lambda2, respectively. A light composing device 11 composes luminous outputs fed from the light emitting devices 9 and 10 through optical fibers 2a to feed it to a photo-magnetic field sensor 3. The supplied light is collected by a micro lens 4a and is supplied to a polarizer 5 for the rectilinear polarization. The polarized light is supplied to a detector 7 through a photo Faraday element 6 and a photo-temperature detecting element 12, and an amount of light, having the wavelength lambda1, absorbed by the element 12 varies with temperature. The output of the sensor 3 is applied to light detectors 14 and 15 via a photo devider 13 mounted to the optical fiber 2b, and the light detectors 14 and 15 fetch only the wavelengths lambda1 and lambda2, respectively, to convert them into an electric signal. The outputs of the light detectors 14 and 15 are computed and processed by a signal processing circuit 16 to supply them to an output terminal 17.
