Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the stress which is generated in the welding part between a shell and a base plate by the internal pressure of the shell, by forming a welding additional part on the outside or inside circumferential face of the shell, where a compressing element is stored, in a position of ≤1/3 height of the shell from this welding part.
CONSTITUTION: A welding additional part 6 is formed on the outside or inside circumference of a shell 1, where a compressing element of a compressor is stored, in a position of ≤1/3 height of the shell 1 from a welding part 3 between the shell 1 and a base plate 2. When an internal pressure is applied to the shell 1 worked in this manner, the thickness of a part including the additional part 6 of the shell 1 becomes larger than that of other parts, and the deformation quantity of the shell 1 between welding parts 3 and 6 is very small because the welding part itself holds a welding residual tensile stress in the circumferential direction, and consequently, a shearing stress and a bending moment generated in the boundary part between the welding part 3 and the base plate 2 are very low.
