Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the proper return of exhaust gas for low load operation to promote the drivability by providing a bypass control valve in an EGR passage to introduce the suction negative pressure at the time of opening of a throttle valve part for making up for the insufficient flow of return operation on the basis of EGR negative pressure.
CONSTITUTION: In this EGR device, EGR exhaust gas is returned to a suction passage 4 via a return passage 7, the first and the second flow control valve 8 and 9 arranged in parallel, a return passage 10, the third flow control valve 11, and a return passage 12. At this stage, the first and the second flow control valve 8 and 9 are controlled for opening and closing by introducing a disboost negative pressure and an EGR negative pressure at negative ports 24 and 23 provided to face to positions of an end part 5a of the throttle valve 5 at opening angles of about 20 and 10° respectively into negative pressure chambers 13 and 14. The scond flow control valve 9 is provided to open and close a bypass flow passage 22 smaller in its flow passage area than the valve 8. The third flow control valve 11 is controlled via a link 27 in accordance with the opening degree of the throttle valve 5.
