Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature and thin magnetic head for recording of picture which excels in the wear resistance, the frequency properties, etc., by providing a reinforcement member of an oxidized metallic layer on the flat surface at the tape travelling side of a magnetic head in which the cores made of a pair of an amorphous alloy magnetic members are butted with each other after a gap is produced by a nonmagnetic film. CONSTITUTION:For a picture recording magnetic head of a VTR, etc., a C type core 11 is made of an amorphous alloy magnetic member (an alloy having high hardness and wear resistance which is obtained by giving the ultraquenching to the molten matal of three transition metallic components of Fe, Co and Ni plus the submetallic component of Si, B, etc.). Then these two cores 11 are butted with each other via a nonmagnetic film 14 and pressed from both sides as shown by arrows to be stuck to each other. An oxidized metal of TiO2, etc. is formed as a reinforcement member 13 across the flat area including at least the tape travelling side surface on the side surface of the core 11 by the plasma melt- spray process. In such constitution, the large output voltage which can cope with the high frequency is obtained. As a result, a picture recording magnetic head of high strength is produced to obtain a high-contrast image.
